De Verplek was founded in 1997 as a result of a corporation with students of a local school in Evergem. The art studio provided people with needs the chance to show their creative skills, under assistance of a supervisor. As a result of their creative ideas they could also paint their ideas on a picture. February 2002 the art studio made a second start with a new draft of artists. The art studio was settled in an old school of Wippelgem en is now opened 3 days a week. In the period 2006- 2009 they moved twice. Nowadays, people of ‘Den Dries’ can enter the art studio to show their talents and ambitions. We take care of almost every art discipline. De Verfplek wants to be a meeting place for clients of Den Dries, regular artists and interested visitors. At the art studio we emphasis one creativity. During an ‘art education/program’ we study several techniques. Nowadays we organize workshops frequently to keep our intensive corporation.
